A photo is a rectangle, and a hexagon is not. So the four corners of your picture fall outside the frame. Anything tucked into a corner, such as a second face or a birthday banner, will be lost. Pick photos with the subject near the middle and some space around it. A close portrait or a parent holding a child works well. A wide group, lined up edge to edge, does not.
