Why the printable area is smaller than the plate

The image sits in a circle roughly six inches across with a plain ceramic border around it. That border is deliberate. It frames the photograph and it is where the plate is handled, so the print is not under a thumb every time it is moved. A birthday layout is our birthday photo plate.

This is a display plate, not a dinner plate

It is designed for tabletop display, which is why the stand is included rather than sold separately. It is not intended for serving food or for hanging on a wall, and treating it as tableware will take the print off it.

Looking after the print

Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and nothing else. Abrasive scrubbers, harsh cleaning chemicals and sharp objects all damage a sublimation print, and once the surface is scratched it cannot be repaired. Will the photo fade?

With proper care the print stays as it is. Avoid abrasives, chemicals and sharp objects.
