Restore Old Photo to Color Print

Send us the original and choose four things: the print size, whether you want Photo Print or Photo Paper, how many faces need individual work, and whether it arrives framed. That is the whole order for a restore old photo to colour print, and each choice changes the result.

The four decisions, in order

1. Size. Ten sizes from 12×15 to 36×48 inches. Pick it from the wall, then check the original can carry it.
2. Print type. Photo Print or Photo Paper, depending on how the piece will be displayed and handled.
3. Faces. One, two or three faces restored individually. Group photographs need this; single portraits usually do not.
4. Frame. A 1 inch brown synthetic frame, an acrylic frame, or none if you already have one.

What the size decision really depends on

Not the wall. The original. A sharp 5×7 inch print enlarges convincingly to 16×20 inches. A soft 3×4 inch print does not, whatever we do to it. If you are unsure, order the middle of the range rather than the top of it. A monochrome result is our black and white restoration print.

Framed here or framed locally

The 1 inch brown synthetic frame is the practical choice and it arrives ready to hang. An acrylic photo frame gives a clearer, more modern finish. Unframed makes sense only if you have a frame already cut to one of our sizes.

Looking after the print afterwards

Keep it in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from water and heat. Handle it at the edges with clean hands, and keep it framed or in a protective cover when it is not on display. A artwork is done instead is our colour painting for family photos.

Custom sizes can be done on request, and additional charges apply.

How long does the whole job take?

Three to five business days, depending on the condition of the original.

Is glossy or matte standard?

Glossy is standard. Matte is available on request at additional cost.
