Most colour photographs printed before the mid-1990s have drifted towards red or yellow, and a colour to colour restoration photo print is what puts them back. Send the original or a clear scan of it, and the corrected image is printed on photo paper at the size you choose.

What happens to a faded colour print

1. The dominant cast is measured against what should be neutral in the picture, usually a white shirt, a wall or a sky.
2. Skin tones are brought back first, because the eye judges everything else against them.
3. Surface damage is repaired: dust, spotting, creases and the fine cracking that old prints develop.
4. The corrected file is printed high-resolution on photo paper, glossy as standard.

Why the cast happens at all

The dye layers in a colour print do not fade at the same rate. The cyan layer usually goes first, which is why old photographs turn warm rather than simply pale. Understanding which layer has gone is what makes a correction look natural instead of merely bluer.

Restoring the colour rather than replacing it

Choosing the print size

Sizes run 12×15, 12×16, 12×18, 14×20, 16×20, 20×24, 20×30, 24×36, 30×40 and 36×48 inches. Small originals can be enlarged, but a 3×4 inch print has a limit and 36×48 will find it. Finish and framing

Glossy is the standard finish and matte is available on request at additional cost. A 1 inch brown synthetic frame can be added, or an acrylic photo frame for a clearer, more modern look.
