Fixing to a wall or to the door

A wall beside the door stays visible when the door is open, and it is a flat, stable surface. A door moves every time it is used, and panelled doors leave less flat area than people expect.

What has to be readable

Colour is the practical advantage

Engraved wood produces one tone against the grain. Acrylic carries actual colour, so a plate can match a door, a gate or a set of brand colours rather than sitting apart from them.

Choosing a shape

Rectangular reads fastest and suits numbers. Oval and designer profiles suit a house name. A shaped plate has less usable width, so a long name generally needs the rectangle.

Where wood is the better answer

A sheltered entrance, a corridor or a reception desk, where warmth matters more than weather resistance. Those sit in our wooden name plate range, and are indoor pieces only.

Made to order, and checked

Nothing is held in stock. Each plate is cut and finished after you order, and the layout is reviewed before production rather than sent straight to the machine. Once the order has been dispatched, your images are deleted from our system.
