Choose wiro at A5 when the book has to stay open in one hand. A wire coil replaces the spine on a 148×210 mm softcover booklet, so it lies flat on a desk or folds back on itself. Upload your own artwork and choose the paper.
The pocket manual case
Field manuals, checklists, site notebooks and pocket planners. Anything consulted while the reader is doing something else with their hands. At A5 the wire also makes the book foldable back on itself, which an A4 wiro book is too wide to do comfortably.

Margins matter more at A5
The coil takes the same bite out of the inner edge whatever the page size, so on a narrower page it eats a larger share of the layout. Leave a wider inner margin than feels necessary, or the first characters of every line vanish into the wire. A glued spine avoids the problem, in our soft cover A5 booklet.

Soft cover binding gives a printed spine and stacks neatly. Staple pin binding is the cheapest and suits thin programmes. Hard cover is rarely worth it at this size, though it exists. See our hard cover binding booklets.
