Why an imperial size is in an A-series range

Because framing is sold in inches. A print at 13×19 drops into a standard frame without a custom mount being cut. That is why art prints, film posters and photographic displays are made at this size rather than at A3. The A-series equivalent is our A3 poster.

Paper for something that will be framed

250 GSM art paper is the choice here. Behind glass the weight is not about durability, it is about the print staying flat in the frame. Thin paper ripples against the mount within a few months, and the ripple shows.

Printing artwork rather than advertising

Eco solvent printing gives dense blacks and saturated colour, and it does not fade under normal indoor use. That matters more on something intended to hang for years than on a promotion running for a fortnight. Upload artwork in JPG, JPEG, PNG or PDF at high resolution.

Lamination behind glass

Optional glossy or matte lamination is worth considering only if the print will hang unframed. Behind glass it adds nothing and a glossy laminate doubles the reflections, because you end up with two shiny surfaces instead of one. Matte lamination is the sensible choice for an unframed print.
