What halving the page changes

Everything about the layout. A5 takes one column, not two, and images have to earn their place because there is far less room around them. Shrinking an A4 design to A5 rarely works, because the type ends up too small to read comfortably. The cheapest A5 binding is our staple pin A5 booklet.

Why A5 gets kept

It fits a bag, a glove box and a drawer. An A4 booklet handed out at an exhibition is usually left on a table by the end of the day, while an A5 one goes home. If the aim is for the book to survive the journey, the smaller size is the better bet. The full-size version is our soft cover A4 booklet.

A5 against the other bindings at this size
