A3 is read, not carried
Nobody folds an A3 sheet into a pocket. This size goes on a noticeboard, in a shop window or on a wall inside a hall, where it is read standing up from a couple of metres away. That single consideration should determine the type size on the artwork. A displayed alternative on heavier stock is our A3 poster.
What 130 GSM art paper does at this size
Art paper takes ink densely, so large blocks of colour print evenly rather than mottling. At A3 that matters more than at A5, because there is more flat colour to go wrong. Optional glossy or matte lamination adds stiffness, which is worth having on a sheet that will be pinned up for weeks.
A3 against A4
A4 is the working size for anything handed over. A3 is for anything displayed. If your flyer is doing both jobs, print A4 in quantity and a handful of A3 for the walls. See our A4 flyers listing.
Quantities and what they cost
The minimum order is ten copies, and the price per sheet falls steadily as the quantity increases. For schools, exhibitions, restaurants and retail chains we quote bulk pricing separately, rather than working from a published table. The pocket alternative is our DL flyer.
