A4 Certificate Print

250 GSM art glossy, 250 GSM matte, 280 GSM needle point, 280 GSM linen textured or 300 GSM ivory. The paper is the real decision on an A4 certificate print, which measures 210×297 mm. Upload your own design, and each sheet is printed in full colour with variable names and numbers.

What each paper signals

Art glossy photographs well and looks bright under a camera at an awards evening. Matte is the neutral choice and the easiest to sign over in ink. Needle point and linen textured have a surface you can feel. That texture is what most people mean when they ask for a certificate that feels expensive. Ivory reads as formal and traditional.

Why A4 is the default

Every certificate folder, document wallet and off-the-shelf frame is built for A4. Ordering anything else means the recipient has to go and find a frame, and most never do. That practicality, more than appearance, is why institutions standardise on A4. The high-volume alternative is our A5 certificate printing.

Lamination, and when to skip it

Lamination protects a certificate that will be handled, carried or pinned up. Skip it if the recipient is going to sign it, or if it is going straight behind glass. A laminated sheet cannot be signed over in ink, and it reflects twice under a frame.

Sending the artwork

Send a PDF at the correct size with the fonts embedded, and keep the variable fields in a separate list rather than in the design. Basic text corrections are done on request. A wall-mounted version is our wooden certificate frame.

A4 against the other two sizes

A5 at 148×210 mm halves the cost on high-volume participation runs. A3 at 297×420 mm is for the one certificate that gets presented rather than posted, in our A3 certificate printing listing.
